Karnak Temple in Luxor, contains huge buildings and columns, dedicated to the worship of the god Amun-Ra, and was built during the Middle Dynasty around (2000 BC), and was expanded by the kings (Thutmose III, and Ramses II).

The Great Column Base, the most prominent feature of Karnak, contains 134 huge columns, and statues of the kings of ancient Egypt.

Karnak was a center for religious activities, in addition to festivals held such as (Opet), in which statues of the gods were transferred in a historical procession from Karnak Temple to Luxor Temple.
